Townsville has three unique botanic gardens that feature plants, wildlife and interesting collections.

Anderson Gardens

• Gulliver Street, Pimlico
• The largest botanic garden in Townsville covering 25 hectares
• Includes fine specimens of tropical trees and palms, grand avenues and the World Cycad Collection
• Open to the public between sunrise and sunset.

Palmetum

• University Road, Douglas
• A 17 hectare botanic garden displaying one of the largest and most diverse public collections of palms in the world
• The Ross River Bikeways runs between the gardens and the river
• Open to the public between sunrise and sunset.

Queens Gardens

• Paxton Street and Gregory Street, North Ward
• The oldest botanic garden in Townsville and is heritage listed
• Covering 4 hectares and is a cool, lush green oasis against the dramatic granite cliffs of Castle Hill
• Open to the public between sunrise and sunset.
